SUMMARY:2019 WFC Qualifying Event: Burger Battle
DESCRIPTION:Chefs and Cook Teams from around the region will gather at Back Forty Beer Company to create their best version of the American classic. At stake: Bragging rights\, a cool trophy\, AND a Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships in Dallas\, Texas. Taking place October 16-20\, some 450 teams will compete in 10 different categories in the largest food sport event on the planet. The winning team   as determined by certified WFC Judges will represent WFC Team Alabama and receive a paid-for registration into the championships\, recognition in print\, digital and social media\, Team Alabama swag and a cash stipend\, provided by Greater Gadsden Area Tourism. Entry fees are $125 and the field is limited to 12 teams. Cook teams are responsible for providing all of their cooking equipment and ingredients\, some power is available as is water. Each team must present one show plate and five samples for the official judging. They should also prepare a minimum of 200 samples for entry into the People's Choice contest. (This does not have to be the same as the judging dish.)\n\n\n\nThere is no charge to attend. Advance purchase sampling tickets are 15 for $10. Day of event tickets are $1.00 each. Proceeds from sampling tickets go to United Way of Etowah County.
