Katie Boyd Britt was born and raised in Enterprise\, Alabama.  She attended The University of Alabama and earned a B.A. in Political Science and Blount Liberal Arts.  Katie went on to earn her law degree at The University of Alabama School of Law.  In August of 2016\, Katie became Chief of Staff to Senator Shelby.  In this position\, she served as the senator's top advisor on all legal\, policy\, communications\, strategy\, leadership\, and campaign matters including all fundraising\, leadership PAC and campaign operations.In January of 2019\, Katie was selected as President and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama\, where she is working to build coalitions and promote unity among the Alabama business community. She is also working to build bridges with elected officials and policy makers at the local\, state\, and federal levels to support pro-business\, pro-economic growth policies that support all sectors of Alabama's economy: industrial\, commercial\, small business\, tech and health care entrepreneurs. Katie resides in Montgomery\, AL\, with her husband\, Wesley\, her daughter\, Bennett\, and her son Ridgeway. She serves as President of the Community Affairs Board of Advisors at the University of Alabama and is the former President of the Student Affairs Leadership Council and a former member of the Blackburn Advisory Board.
