SUMMARY:"All Things Are Related" Opening Reception at The Walnut Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Join us September 21\, 6-8PM\, for the opening reception and artist visit for "All Things Are Related"\, by Robert Bean. The reception is free and open to the public.\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Statement: \n\n\n\n"I use my art as a way to communicate with and understand the world around me. Because we all see the world through our own perceptions\, I try to create narrative paintings that incorporate personal subject matter and symbols while using more universal themes and archetypes to create a series of paintings that work as a whole.\n\n\n\nAs much as I enjoy working with ideas about how to create interesting narratives\, I constantly work on my painting technique. I obsessively study old masters paintings and read anything I can find about their thinking and working method. \n\n\n\nLately\, I have been working on incorporating both impressionistic techniques and the more classical method of using greys and neutrals. I also try to work from life as much as possible to keep my observational skills sharp."\n\n\n\nRobert received a B.F.A. from Mississippi State University and an M.F.A. from Louisiana State University. He has taught classes in figure painting and drawing at Louisiana State University\, and Alabama A&M. He is currently teaching classes at UA Huntsville in the Department of Art\, Art History and Design. He also teaches at the Huntsville Museum of Art. His works have been in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout the Southeastern United States. \n\n\n\nSee more of Robert's work at https://www.robertbeanart.com/american-portraiture/
