\n The two-day event at Noccalula Falls Park includes a motorcycle run\, a beauty pageant and a mini-golf tournament.
\n\n And\, there will be lots of good food.
\n\n This is the second year the pig roast\, which is Saturday and Sunday\, is taking place at Noccalula Falls at the campground stage and pavilions. Gail Hill\, who founded the event with her husband\, Doug\, said 16 bands will be playing during the two days. Music begins at noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
\n\n Admission is free. The event generates money through other means\, and the proceeds provide Christmas for children who otherwise would do without.
\n\n &ldquo\;Everybody that&rsquo\;s involved with the pig roast says it&rsquo\;s all about the children\,&rdquo\; Hill said.
\n\n &ldquo\;We want a child to go back to school after Christmas and be able to tell someone what they got for Christmas\, and that&rsquo\;s our main goal\, to make a child happy at Christmas time\,&rdquo\; she said.
\n\n More than 800 children had a happier Christmas last year\, with more than $23\,000 spent on gifts.
\n\n Hill said they hope to raise $15\,000 to $20\,000 and will have another fundraiser in October.
\n\n On Saturday\, hamburgers\, hot dogs and barbecue sandwiches will be available from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Plates are $6.
\n\n Pulled pork plates or barbecue chicken plates will be available from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday\, with sides that include baked beans\, cole slaw and corn on cob\, plus bread and drinks. The cost is $8.
\n\n To-go boxes will be available on both days.
\n\n Boston butts will be available for $25 beginning Saturday at noon and also can be picked up beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday.
\n\n Hill said they prepared about 260 butts last year and sold out.

\n\n Other food vendors will be there\, and T-shirts from the event will be sold.
\n\n Those who attend should bring blankets or lawn chairs. Coolers are allowed.
\n\n Anyone wishing to volunteer at the event should call Hill at 256-413-3684.
\n\n The Pig Roast Bike Run is Saturday on Broad Street. Registration begins at 8 a.m.\, with the ride beginning at 10 a.m. The two-and-a-half-hour ride is sponsored by the Red Knights of Alabama Chapter 10.
\n\n About 100 bikers participated last year. Hill said several other chapters are participating this year\, and she expects 200 to 300 riders to participate.
\n\n There is no charge\, but donations will be accepted.

\n\n At noon Saturday\, there will be a Girls Beauty Contest at Elliott Community Center for ages infant to 12 years old. Registration is $25.
\n\n Saturday there will be a mini-golf tournament at the course at Noccalula Falls. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.\, with tee-off at 9 a.m. The cost is $15 per team of three.
