DESCRIPTION:Students! What's your plan after high school? ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A GREAT OPTION? Consider becoming a part of our Project Search program next year!\n\n\n\nYou and your parents are invited to An Open House for Project Search on Tuesday\, February 9\, 2021 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the office of AL Dept. of Rehab Services located at 1100 George Wallace Drive on the campus of Gadsden State.\n\n \n\nProject Search is a hands on training program for exiting seniors and youth age 18-24\, designed to teach work place readiness skills and hands on trade skills for better employment opportunities.  The program is a PAID training program for those individuals in need of work skills and job placement assistance. \n\n \n\nWe are currently taking applications for the upcoming 2019-2020 calendar year!  Don't miss this opportunity!  Contact Brandy Mills\, VR Counselor\, at 256-549-7795 for more information\, or your high school special education teacher. \n\nWhat is Project Search?\n\n \n\nProject Search is a 9 month internship program for youth with disabilities\, ages 18-24 years of age.  It is geared toward individuals whose goal is competitive employment in the community.  \n\n \n\nEtowah County Project Search takes place in Gadsden Regional Medical Center\, where the interns are immersed in the work environment.  They participate in up to 3 different rotations or jobs in the Hospital to explore a variety of career paths and gain experience in these areas.  Each intern works with our team of job coaches\, teacher and vocational rehab counselor\, to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for the working world.  The interns benefit by acquiring these competitive and marketable skills\, while gaining independence\, maturity\, confidence and self-esteem.  They also receive individualized coaching\, instruction and feedback as they train\, and are placed in a job!\n\n \n\nAlabama currently has 6 Project Search programs across the State!
