SUMMARY:Transfer Pathway Program partnership signing with GSCC and JSU
DESCRIPTION:Jacksonville State University and Gadsden State Community College will sign an agreement between the two institutions\, formalizing a partnership aimed at better supporting students interested in transferring to JSU. JSU President John M. Beehler and Gadsden State President Martha Lavender will participate in a signing ceremony on Gadsden State's campus at 1 p.m. on April 20.\n\n\n\nJSU has launched a new Transfer Pathway Program to significantly increase the transferability of students from community colleges throughout the state of Alabama\, regionally and nationally. The pathway model allows students to enroll in specific courses at the community college level that will better prepare them for the major they wish to pursue at JSU.\n\n\n\nGadsden State and JSU have had a close relationship for decades. The two institutions share space at their McClellan and East Broad campuses. This partnership will formalize that relationship and enable the two institutions to work together more strategically\, helping university-bound students seamlessly transfer to JSU and meet their college and career goals.\n\n \n\nAbout Jacksonville State University: Located in the Appalachian foothills midway between Birmingham and Atlanta\, Jacksonville State University has grown from humble beginnings as a state teachers college in 1883 into the Alabama regional university with the highest percentage of accredited programs. In addition to traditional programs\, JSU currently offers more than 40 programs online\, with more in the works. Choose from bachelor's degrees\, master's degrees\, graduate certificates\, or one of JSU's two doctoral degrees: the Doctor of Science in Emergency Management or the Doctor of Nursing Practice. To learn more\, visit www.jsu.edu\, call 1-800-231-JAX1 or e-mail jaxfacts@jsu.edu.\n\n \n\nAbout Gadsden State Community College: Gadsden State Community College is a public community college with six campuses in Etowah\, Calhoun and Cherokee counties.
