Area residents are invited from 10:30 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 6th to a free hot dog cookout at the Whorton Bend Volunteer Fire Department.
The cookout, hosted by Advanced Disposal, is part of the quarterly clean-up day of household trash for residents in unincorporated areas of Etowah County.
While the cookout only takes place at the Whorton Bend location, there will be open-top containers at four sites in the county, including the fire department. The containers are for use by county residents. Sites will be staffed, and only vehicles with Etowah County tags will be allowed access.
The containers will be available from 7 A.M. to noon Saturday, August 6th
The other sites are:
• Leeth Gap and Sardis Road, across from the old county shop
• Intersection of U.S. Highway 278 and Alabama Highway 132
• Gaston High School at U.S. Highway 411 North
No tires, batteries, appliances or hazardous waste will be accepted.
