The Mandate is here. All employers of 100 or more must, by January 4, require employees to be vaccinated or undergo weekly testing.
Is this federal law really going to go into effect? Will it be derailed by lawsuits? What if I don’t comply? How will it be enforced? Who pays for the testing and the time it takes to get tested? Can I make exceptions or accommodations for employees who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons or have a religious objection? What impact does Governor Ivey’s Executive Order (and similar anti-mandate orders in other states) have?
If you are a smaller employer, you have decisions to make too. Can you, and should you, voluntarily adopt what the government is requiring or a similar policy?
