Neely Henry Lake Association Kayak Launch Grand Opening

Join us on May 17th at 9:30am for the grand opening of Rainbow Landing’s new Yakport Kayak Launch, brought to the community through the efforts of the Neely Henry Lake Association in partnership with the Alabama Scenic River Trail (ASRT) 2024 Waterway Enhancement Program. This project marks an exciting step in expanding safe, accessible water recreation on Lake Neely Henry for both beginners and experienced paddlers. The Neely Henry Lake Association was awarded a $2,200 grant by the Alabama Scenic River Trail Waterway Enhancement Program 2024 Cycle, using the funds to purchase and install the kayak launch at Rainbow Landing. This launch addresses the growing demand for accessible water entry points on the lake by non-motorized recreators. The new launch, supported by additional Rainbow City upgrades of the landing's decking, provides a stable, user-friendly platform for launching kayaks, canoes, and similar watercraft. This development ensures enhanced safety, ease of use, and increased access for paddlers at all levels, fostering the growth of paddle sports in our community.
