The 8th Annual Learning Tree Gala, themed Classic Country Gala, will be held at Otter Creek Farmstead & Distillery, Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. to benefit children served by The Learning Tree programs: The Little Tree Preschool, Residential School, and Growing Independence Behavioral Services clinic. Tickets are $75 per guest. Each ticket includes evening beverages (ages 21+), classic gourmet food, $500 in gaming chips, and door prize entry. Polish up your boots, shake out your lace, and join us for a classic evening of fun entertainment supporting the children of The Learning Tree.
Catering presented, by Local Joes, featuring a fresh Low Country Boil, with fresh gulf shrimp, corn on the cob, smoked sausage, and red potatoes. Other mouth watering favorites will include Local Joe’s Signature Smoked Flank Steak on a sweet yeast roll with a homemade horseradish mayo, and a Tuscan Chicken Slider with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella cheese with garlic aioli. The dessert bar will be garnished with watermelon shortcake, a mouthwatering shortcake topped with basil and sugar infused watermelon and whipped topping, with a side of homemade chocolate mousse.
Black Jack gaming Tables, provided by Goodfellas Gaming, will be available through out the venue. Each attendee will receive $500 in charity chips to play rounds at the tables of their choice. At 9:00pm, all chips will be cashed in for tickets, where everyone will have chances at some great door prizes! Corn Hole will be available this year! Who’s ready for a little friendly corn hole competition?
Entertainment will include live music, featuring Double Barrel, a classic country band from Georgia. They are up and coming in the music industry and we are proud to have them join us for your nightly entertainment. Show us your moves on the dance floor!
There will be a great silent auction. The auction will include great items donated by local businesses. There will be YETI coolers, autographed sports memorabilia, vacations, jewelry, local attraction tickets, Michael Kors purse and wallet set, artist paintings, lawn equipment, and so much more. The children will even adorn the tables with their beautiful artwork for your enjoyment and purchase!
The Learning Tree serves more than 600 children, ages 2 through 21, across Alabama, with developmental disabilities, including autism. The educational and residential programs provide individualized instruction in a nurturing and supportive environment that has proven highly successful in managing the significant behavioral, physical, and cognitive challenges that interfere with learning. The Learning Tree pre schools and residential schools are located in Birmingham, Jacksonville, Anniston, Mobile, Tallassee and Auburn. In 2018, The Learning Tree established the Growing Independence Behavioral Services clinics in Anniston, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile.
