Job Title: Executive Director 
Organization: Council on Aging of Etowah County, Inc. Location: Gadsden 
Salary: Beginning at $30,000 (commensurate with experience)
Reports To: Board Chair and Board of Directors

Position Overview 
The Council on Aging of Etowah County, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization in serving the senior community of Etowah County. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration, financial management, program oversight, and strategic leadership of the organization, working under the direction of the Board of Directors. 
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about improving the lives of older adults and strengthening community partnerships.  

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations and administration of the organization.
Manage all financial affairs, including budgeting, accounting oversight, and financial reporting to the Board.
Prepare and present regular reports on organizational and financial status.
Maintain accurate corporate records and ensure regulatory compliance.
Develop and submit the annual operating budget.
Identify and pursue grant and funding opportunities at local, state, regional, and national levels.
Lead public relations efforts and serve as the primary spokesperson to community groups and media.
Coordinate special projects and community initiatives.
Manage sponsorship and resource development programs, including partnerships with regional agencies and community campaigns.
Supervise and direct all staff and volunteers.
Keep the Board fully informed of organizational activities, opportunities, and challenges.

Qualifications 

Experience: 
Previous work with a Non-Profit is preferred but not required. 

Skills & Abilities: 
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Grant writing experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Financial management and budgeting experience
Ability to build partnerships across public and private sectors
Knowledge of social service systems and senior service delivery
Computer proficiency and report preparation skills
Honest, dependable, and able to work independently
Passion for serving older adults and advocating for senior issues
