GADSDEN, AL – Gadsden State Community College has implemented an initiative that will make significant improvements in campus safety and accessibility.
“Every building on each of Gadsden State’s five campuses will now have its own physical address,” said Jay Freeman, chief of the Gadsden State Police and Safety Department. “This initiative will include physical address signs that will be installed on each building in the near future.”
The physical addresses are now reflected on maps available on the Gadsden State website to ensure clear and precise location information for students, employees and visitors.
“The addresses and building signs will be vital tools for first responders,” he said. “The initiative enhances their ability to locate buildings quickly during emergencies. The signs will also provide clear directional assistance for people navigating our campuses.”
Freeman said the initiative is a collaborative effort between his department and Gadsden State’s Capital Projects and Operations Department.
“The Capital Projects and Operations Department under the leadership of Cory Carter has truly been committed to this project,” he said. “We look forward to the positive impact on our campuses and the community’s safety and well-being. We appreciate the support and collaboration as we move forward with this initiative.”
