Croy named Player of the Week

GADSDEN, AL – Ally Croy is the first Gadsden State Community College softball player to be named the Division I Player of the Week by the Alabama Community College Conference. The freshman catcher and utility player posted a .643 batting average over the week.

“Ally is an incredibly talented player who works and competes as hard as any player I’ve ever coached,” said Ryan Clark, head coach.

Croy, a native of Lyerly, Ga., and graduate of Chattooga High School, earned the honor after recording seven runs, two home runs, eight RBIs and one stolen base in recent games.

“She is a versatile player who is a major factor in our team’s growth,” Clark said. “She brings a tremendous amount of energy to the field. Her performance this week is a reflection of her dedication to the game. We are excited to see what she will accomplish this season with the team.”

The Gadsden State Cardinals are currently 6-8 in their first season back after being reinstated in 2024.

Clark said he is confident the team will continue to rise to the challenge.

“The team is doing a great job finding ways to win,” he said. “We’ve been up against some tough competition early this season, but they continue to step up to the challenge. The players are starting to really gel and take on their roles to help the team succeed. Ally’s recognition is just one example of the hard work and talent that is pushing us forward.”
