Gadsden, AL, June 2, 2026- Gadsden Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is pleased to announce that Katie Novitski, MD, MPH, has joined its medical staff, expanding access to general surgical care across the region. She is joined by Jessica Robertson, CRNP, who will support patient care alongside Dr. Novitski after both recently practiced together in the surrounding area.
Dr. Novitski brings extensive experience in bariatric and general surgery, with expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques. She most recently served with the University of Alabama at Birmingham(UAB) Department of Surgery, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. She is board certified in general surgery and certified as a bariatric and metabolic surgeon.
Novitski earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her general surgery residency at Brookwood Baptist Health. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from Samford University. Robertson earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Dr. Novitski offers a broad range of procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic general surgery, bariatric and revisional weight loss surgery, gastrointestinal procedures, endoscopy, and abdominal wall reconstruction, along with a variety of advanced bedside and procedural interventions. Robertson, a certified registered nurse practitioner, brings valuable clinical experience and will play an important role in supporting continuity of care, patient education, and surgical follow-up.
