Gadsden State Cherokee holds a supply drive
Centre, Ala. — Gadsden State Cherokee is hosting a food drive for the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center, a child-focused facility designed to be a comfortable and safe place for children who have been victimized through abuse or neglect.
 
Wood puzzles, playdoh, Teen coloring books, colored pencils, canned soft drinks, water, bottles, coffee K cups, drawstring bags, backpacks, notebooks, and journals.

Honors Days planned in Gadsden, Anniston
Anniston, Ala. — Gadsden State’s Honors Committee and Academics Division is hosting the annual Honors Days in Anniston and Gadsden. The purpose of the events is to recognize the outstanding academic achievement of our students. Scholarships to four-year universities are also awarded.
 
The event for students who primarily attend classes on the Ayers Campus will be at 2 p.m., April 15 in the Learning Resource Center. The Honors Day for students attending Gadsden campuses or Gadsden State Cherokee will be at 2 p.m., April 16 in  the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus.
 
 
Preview Day to be held for prospective students
Gadsden State Community College is hosting a final Preview Day for prospective students. 
 
· April 14 – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre
 
Preview Days offer prospectives students the opportunity to take guided tours to learn more about the technical, health science and academic programs offered at the College. Students will also learn about admissions, financial aid, scholarships and student life. Parents are encouraged to attend with their students. PTK induction ceremony scheduled
Gadsden, Ala.— Gadsden State Community College’s Rho Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society will hold an induction ceremony for new members at 5:30 p.m., April 16 in the Beck Conference Center on the Wallace Drive Campus. Members of the public are invited to attend.
 
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges. Recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges, PTK honors academic achievement and fosters leadership and service among community college students.
 
 
Saturday Sophomore Day set for baseball team
Gadsden, Ala.— The Gadsden State Baseball team will have its first Sophomore Day celebrating all players on their second year at Gadsden State. Family and friends are welcome to share in the celebration on April 12 at 12:30 p.m. with the first pitch at 1 p.m.
 
The game will be held at the Gadsden Sports Complex, 1420 W. Meighan Blvd., Gadsden Al 35901. Ticket information can be found at GoCardinal.GadsdenState.edu.
 
 
Gadsden State will host Leap into Wellness: Whole Person Wellness Fairs
Anniston, Ala.— Gadsden State’s Advising and Retention Center will host two wellness events for faculty, staff and students with multiple vendors offering free information related to all aspects of health care.
 
The event for students who primarily attend classes on the Ayers Campus will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., April 21 in the Cheaha Student Center. Students attending Gadsden campuses or Gadsden State Cherokee will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., April 22 on the Wallace Drive Campus in Allen Hall.
 
 
Spring 2025 graduates have a new enhanced diploma service
Gadsden, Ala.— Gadsden State Community College has partnered with Parchment, Inc. to manage and provide a new enhanced service of optional printed diplomas and certificates. Each order will receive a secure PDF file to share with family, prospective employers, and on social media.
 
Students will be able to request both their diplomas and transcripts online through Parchment, Inc. using their student number or Social Security Number. The Spring 2025 graduation application deadline is Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Upon completing the application, graduates will receive more details about the enhanced diploma services.
