Gadsden, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College has partnered with local high schools to strengthen agricultural education and introduce students to careers in the poultry and agriculture industries. As part of this effort, Gadsden State presented a $500 check to each Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter to assist in funding student attendance at the National FFA Convention October 29 – November 1, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Through a partnership with Auburn University, Gadsden State offers a poultry science program that provides scholarships and a seamless transfer pathway to a four-year degree. The program prepares students for success in one of Alabama’s most in-demand industries while helping meet workforce needs across the state.
“It is an honor for Gadsden State to invest in our local students and agricultural education,” said Randi Wright, campus director at Gadsden State Cherokee. “Through our support of their FFA Convention experience and the promotion of our poultry science program, we demonstrate our commitment to advancing both student success and the future of this essential industry.”
