City of Gadsden Unveils Phase 4 Expansion of Gadsden Sports Park and Teases New Additions

The City of Gadsden marked another milestone in its commitment to recreation and community growth with the unveiling of Phase 4 of the Gadsden Sports Park. Local leaders, city officials, and members of the construction and parks teams gathered to celebrate the newest additions to the facility.

This exciting new phase includes two brand-new turf baseball fields, new soccer practice fields, a modern concession stand, a tournament office, and expanded pickleball courts. The improvements are designed to better serve the growing number of athletes, families, and visitors who use the park year-round.

Mayor Craig Ford, City Engineer Heath Williamson, and representatives from Parks and Recreation addressed the crowd, highlighting the importance of the project to both residents and visitors. Mayor Ford also shared plans for future enhancements, including more parking, additional fields, and even greater recreational opportunities.

“As one of the fastest-growing recreation destinations in the region, Gadsden Sports Park is a major driver of youth sports, tourism, and local economic development,” said Mayor Ford. “These new facilities will allow us to host larger events, attract more visitors, and give our community more reasons to come together.”

Since its inception, Gadsden Sports Park has become a hub for tournaments, practices, and community gatherings. With each new phase of development, the park continues to strengthen its role as a regional destination for sports and recreation.
