Gadsden, AL – The Etowah Chamber was excited to welcome Gadsden Women’s Health Physicians & Surgeons to the community with a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. The clinic, which also has a location in Anniston, opened in Gadsden to better serve patients who travel for specialized women’s healthcare.
Led by Dr. Ricky Patel, a board-certified OBGYN trained in both general OBGYN and Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, the practice offers high-quality care for women of all ages. Dr. Patel completed his residency at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Jersey, the region’s high-risk perinatal center, and completed a fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston. Since the addition of the Da Vinci Xi robotic platform in 2021, Dr. Patel has performed over 100 robotic surgeries, providing patients with faster recovery and less pain.
Joining him is Hannah Strickland, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a professional background in women’s health. Hannah brings experience from labor and delivery nursing to advanced care as a nurse practitioner, focusing on comprehensive support for women and families.
Gadsden Women’s Health Physicians & Surgeons offers a full range of OBGYN and GYN services, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, treatment for bladder leakage and pelvic prolapse, management of fibroids and endometriosis, menopause care, prenatal care, 3D ultrasounds, lactation support, and general women’s health services.
The ribbon-cutting celebration brought together community members and local leaders to welcome the clinic. Guests had the opportunity to meet the team, learn about services, and celebrate the clinic’s commitment to helping women live healthier, more confident lives.
