A retrospective exhibition of the work of Walter Inglis Anderson (1903-1965) Few artists have captured the essence of the natural world, literature, and mythology so vivdly and with such passion. Born in New Orleans and trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Anderson spent most of his life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He is recognized for his enormous artistic output, for the superb quality of his work, and for his ability to evoke a sense of place both naturalistically accurate and universal in its poetic and artistic appeal.
